water. freeway not much better. 8 80 at the marina boulevard exit was a wet gray mess. heavy rain obscured the view of drivers creating a constant wave of stop and go traffic and sea of brake lights. this accident was one of many we witnessed in the span of only 2 hours. low lying spots on the highway often flood quickly. increasing road hazard for drivers and new set of challenges for the crew assigned to keep the freeway and storm drains clear of all obstruction. >> we have to make sure that they are not being plugged by either mud or leaves or by litter. >>reporter: with more than 300 camera across the 9 counties in the bay area cal-trans has had a busy day monitoring traffic. the red color.indicate problem areas where traffic is stopped. flooding closed highway 12 mud slide at highway 84 in fremont brought traffic to stand still. >> we find out what the problems as quickly as possible to dispatch the right people and the right equipment. >>reporter: chp responded quickly to the accident on westbound 5 80 and believe the driver may have been going too fast for weather and r

the marina district. bayview, on and off so far. we shift east you can see light rain, it's through the delta, along i-80 if you have a drive into the central valley it's a wet one. light showers, the last in a series of storms is coming our way. we are going to get a break for the afternoon. rain will start again tonight with the heaviest rain coming tomorrow morning. several inches of rain expected. more than that expected for the hills, talked about the high surf advisory, the flash flood as well as warnings for the areas, especially the north bay rivers excretion. we will watch that for you. 63 oakland. 63 redwood, mid ofo's san jose, the extended forecast, we will continue with the numbers, even a few low 60's. low to mid60's in the forecast when we get back to work on monday. sunday night we are drying out. nothing like what we have seen in recent days. >> if you want more energy efficient rights you can get them for free. just turn in your old ones. it's happening at 11:00 o'clock this morning on dublin boulevard and to be eligible you must bring a copy of your pg&e bill and prove you

and into the sierra. if we get in closer, picking up a pretty good cell over the marina. if you are in this area, perhaps just on the south side of the golden gate, you are dealing with some light to moderate rain. and meanwhile, along the peninsula, just a few hit or miss showers. redwood city, over into palo alto, woodside, and some light rain for you, the south bay continuing, light to moderate rain. for your area. and santa claraa, san jose, highway 101, 880, the roads still very slick out there and haven't been able to dry out with the rain that moved through earlier this morning. into the east bay. livermore, light rain. fremont, but here again, it is that line. and we continue to see it shift. south and east. with each passing hour. and into the sierra, we have the winter storm warning that will continue through tomorrow night. and the snow levels ride about 5,000 feet and i-80 as well as highway 50. and it is a very hectic drive if you're getting up that way, you heard mike just say, they may have shut down the highway. will be checking on this for you. expect the winter storm conditions

and the united states economy and jonathan marina, who is a senior fellow who has written extensively about the united states investment, and what it has meant for us on a host of issues we will start with a conversation with drew faust. she is a woman leader of one of our finest institutions. she is a woman leader. we have been focused on women's leadership. she has been at harvard since 2007. before that she was at the university of pennsylvania for 25 years. her academic career has focused on the civil war and the american south. she has been a prominent historian. as the president of harvard, she is focused on ensuring that there is education opportunity for all, for insuring that harvard remains diverse on every level and harvard remains the place that is attracting the best in the united states regardless of background as well in the world. she has spoken eloquently about the role that harvard plays not only in insuring educational leadership but our economic leadership as well. with that i would like to invite drew up.
